You wasted a key for that? If you playied it for 5 mins, I'm sure you think it sucked, in 5 mins you won't get any grip of any game. And I'm sure it ain't the same as diablo 2.

WoW may be leet, but GW sure beats it. I like GW since of the PvP, non-spawn camping thingy, no montlyfee => no stress about "I haft to play, since I'm paying for it". In the end GW will be more cheaper in length, then playing WoW.

So far I'm sticking with GW, and since I don't a credit card.. I won't be playing WoW.

Ohh! Thats very nicely done by apt! Would be nice if could join SHWD baha, but I don't know what humid and his cousin thinks of it. I think I can as an officer recruit. We are going to have a webbsite in php etc, Humid's cousin does that for a living.

I playied with a GeForce4 ti 4200, 128mb. And it worked out just fine.. Not at the best best quality, maybe some slow fps sometimes (for a short ammount of time). But still a enjoyable surrounding without unnecessary slow fps.

Even if GW is not completly a MMORPG, its still great fun. While WoW may be a MMORPG, but is more focused on character creating then PvP, while GW is more focused on PvP. I don't know if someone already said that.. :/

GW is mission based. You can do the missions in either one of 2 ways.

Guild Wars' Way : You goto your map and click on the mission you wanna goto. No running 5 miles thru some overworld, no trips back and forth from town. Just goto the mission when you're ready.

While you can do that, you won't find EVERYTHING without..

The Traditional Way: Walk out of town and take a trip thru the overworld map fighting creeps along the way and you can discover one of many different pit stops with supplies, armour, etc*. That and you can also find a new large city.

I saw a map of the whole game, there's about 30 different mini-cities for the beta map.

But, the main difference between WoW (the Traditional) and GW, is that it plays like you're playing on B.Net. Each mission is like, its own contained room on a server list. The overworld is a "solo" room, no stupid newbs jacking your kills, it's just you and your party. While missions are "cooperative" where you can form parties in a staging room before going out on the mission, where it's just your party.

You never do quests/missions with other parties, or anyone else, except the people in your party.

I'll be honest - I haven't read this thread properly because I'm really tired, but I'm interested in this game and will probably buy it... I was really into D2.

What I was wondering, is can you solo?

I mean I love multiplayer aspects, but the thing I enjoyed most on battle.net was soloing, and only meeting with other players by chance - Not like in the new patch where you have to party with others or you're raped.

Yeah I'm going to bed ;[

You can solo, but it's not as fun. You have to have a party, for the missions, but you can round out your party with AI controlled characters instead of humans. But you'll wanna party up eventually.

I went soloing in the ascalon wilderness, but I went back to doing missions. You get better items that way, and you get loads of xp. If your party is great you will have a great time. The longer you get in the game the harder it gets, there is allways some challange. I had to take one mission 8 times since my parties couldn't handle it, and we all died. Some mission can take up to 1-2 hours, depending on how fast your team goes. If the mission is hard, and your team is weak, it takes time to make stratigic moves, when you can't just rush through the mish without dying.

Is Guild Wars an MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game)?

Guild Wars has some similarities to existing MMORPGs, but it also has some key differences.

Like existing MMOs, Guild Wars is played entirely online in a secure hosted environment. Thousands of players inhabit the same virtual world. Players can meet new friends in gathering places like towns and outposts where they form parties and go questing with them. Unlike many MMOs, when players form a party and embark upon a quest in Guild Wars, they get their own private copy of the area where the quest takes place. This design eliminates some of the frustrating gameplay elements commonly associated with MMOs, such as spawn camping, kill stealing, and lines to complete a quest.

Guild Wars takes place in a large virtual world made up of many different zones, and players can walk from one end of the world to the other. But Guild Wars eliminates much of the tedium of traveling through the world. Players can instantly return to any safe area (town or outpost) that they've previously visited just by clicking on it in the world overview map.

Rather than labeling Guild Wars an MMORPG, we prefer to call it a CORPG (Competitive Online Role-Playing Game). Guild Wars was designed from the ground up to create the best possible competitive role-playing experience. Success in Guild Wars is always the result of player skill, not time spent playing or the size of one's guild. As characters progress, they acquire a diverse set of skills and items, enabling them to use new strategies in combat. Players can do battle in open arenas or compete in guild-on-guild warfare or the international tournament. But engaging in combat is always the player's choice; there is no player-killing in cooperative areas of the world.

Finally, unlike existing MMOs, all characters in Guild Wars inhabit the same virtual world -- they are not divided onto different servers or shards -- so players can always team up with or compete against any other player in the world.
