Maybe I'm naive, but I don't think the color of the guy really matters anymore. It might actually help him. He's a democrat and I dont' think there's nearly as many racist democrats as there are republicans. Plus, he could probably count on 99% of the black and hispanic vote and they'd turn out in huge numbers to put a black man in the white house

Nice rant. If you slowed down a bit you would have realised my post was about how people are perceived, nothing to do with their policies. I'd be very happy if a big whole opened up and swallowed Bush. The guy's a dangerous fool.

- Sadly, I think any Democract would have fallen victim to the same fate. The fact of the matter is that the majority of America is dangerously ignorant, and most people have an unfounded fear of change.

2) (POLITICAL QUESTION) Where does the Democratic party go from here?

- It pains me to say it, but I feel as though the Dems are going to be nearly powerless in the legislature, save for the filibuster. I don't see partisanship fading into the background enough to allow for even the tiniest amount of mutually beneficial progress to be made. Bush will have his way and the house and the senate will support him. So much for checks and balances. My only hope is for the simultaneous assassination of Bush and Cheney. Barring a miracle of that caliber, the Dems have nowhere to go. Their backs are to the wall, and they're probably shitting themselves. I'm soiling my pants right along with them.

Let me tell you what would happen if bush got assinated, atleast tell you what happened when Pim Fortyun got assisinated right before the elections in the netherlands. People regretted this loss etc. and then during the election alot of people, ignorant stupid people, voted for LPF (his party) mainly out of respect, they then fucked up in the goverment and the goverment fell within a year and we had new elections.

And seeing as you all claim to have alot of ignorant stupid people in America, I don't think assisination would help.

Reread his post again froedrick but take a few deep breaths first and count to 10 and you'll see he was saying nothing of the sort.

1. Doubt it.
2. Wait for 2008. Whatever president would have got elected was pretty much doomed for a terrible 4 years. Iraq is a mess and so is the economy unless some miracles happen the next 4 years probably aren't going to look that good for whoever is in charge and hopefully people will want a change.
