  • where can i find information about living (NOT traveling) abroad?

everything i've tried typing into google has given me sites related to tourism. i want more in-depth information. i want to know things such as how to acquire citizenship, what the job market is like, what's a safe, affordable place to live and what's not. i don't care about museums and other tourist attractions.

i'm focusing primarily on the netherlands and australia. if you can help me out, please do. if you can't, you just wasted your time reading this. way to go numbnuts.

Did you try to include "immigration" among your search terms? I'm sure that will weed out the tourism links.

Just googling "immigration netherlands" got me this link:

I'm looking for the same thing man. I heard there's some organisation in Australia which takes care of everything. You just pay them shitloads of money and tell them where you want to live and they'll hook you up with a job, house and they take care of the paperwork.

(edit: I think there's a negative side attached to this organisation but I haven't found out yet. It might include dogs and prostitues...)
I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal...

This is from the justice department on how it works in the netherlands, next to that you could try asking up some information at one off the Dutch embasy's near you. And if you want I could always give some help searching for a place to live etc.

Go to government websites. They have all the information needed.

www.gc.ca Best government wesites around. Especially since there are hundreds of gov websites for Canada. (and each province has dozens of websites, with info relating to the province.)

I've heard that it's nearly impossible to get citizenship in Australia. Not that this is up your alley, but there's always the possibility of working for the State Department or something.

It certainly is extremely difficult to obtain citizenship down under. They're quite the selective bunch, but that's what makes Australia such a radical place to live.

I dont think its that hard in the netherlands, specially coming from amerika, but I do think it takes quite some time.
