Guild Wars or WoW?

Its my old CS clan's guild. I'll probably leave and make one with Lunar Crescens and I. Its the first friday to sunday of every month until the release in February. Every month the game is apparently gonna have alot of changes, cause this is beta, and it's still being worked on. And one of these months, all the characters will be wiped and we'll all be able to reserve our character names and then start from lvl 1

I like wow because the gameplay is right for me, and pretty good graphics. I looked at some screenshots of Guild Wars and it didn't like the graphics.

Beta makes you resent the game, my mood had changed and the game has so many problems with character classes that aren't being addressed and the game ships in a few days.

It feels kind of useless for me to play since I guess a big factor of the game is about getting into a good guild (considering GW has the word in it). I know a guy that's been playing WOW since the first beta (he spent $200 on a closed beta account) just so he can get an early start and try getting in a rich guild so he can make money. He also knows a friend who's in one of the richest guilds and he wants to get in. I don't even know anyone who plays WOW, let alone someone in a decent guild.

Right, why don't you play it for fun instead of worrying about getting into a guild? If you get into one eventually, whoo-hoo. But even if you don't, that's not the end of the world. :turned:

It's different when you're a real beta tester Liquid. You see your class change and get screwed over so many times that you just can't do anything (I couldn't solo 1 lvl 45 mob the last time i was on my warrior and he was maxed out of polearm skill, full mithril armor + a few better peices) and full rage talent speced. It turns you off the game when you can't progress or even have fun with your character.


Guilds I think were only good in the money making aspect (and this is going back a while before they added the extended looting options) because you could trust that the group would not fuck you over on a rare drop. I think in WoW guilds are there more for the cooperative game play experience, completing raid content and high level quests these days. I made a decent ammount without my guilds help, I was able to get a mount at lvl 40 without borrowing cash, I was always able to repair my armor and get new skills but I could have more fun with my guild members then I could with some random raid or group picked up on IF's general chat.

I'm still trying to figure if I should get the game or not. I just don't want to spend $50 on it and get bored of it in a month (which will probably happen). I guess I'm not going to get it.

liquid blue, you havn't seen your character been flipped around and changed a million times and the original idea of the game turn to shit. Maybe they'll fix it or maybe they'll turn into Ultima Online and patch it every two weeks to fix all their problems and release exspasions with samuria's and ninjas' just to piss you off. We'll talk in a few months and see how you're feeling then. When I said beta testing I meant real beta testers not open beta bull shit or stress testing.
