He didn't "only" draw them, in fact I don't think he even drew them at all. Jack Hanna was the director and Joseph Barbera did much of the writing. Together they later formed Hanna Barbera studios.
But Hanna Barbera is only partially correct anyways. Hanna and Barbera produced the original Tom and Jerry cartoons while working for MGM studios. MGM later dropped their animation division and the duo broke away and formed Hanna Barbera studios. They only made one Tom and Jerry film after leaving MGM. A couple of years later, MGM started animating again and restarted the Tom and Jerry line mainly under Chuck Jones and Les Goldman. In the mid-70s, Hanna Barbera bought the rights from MGM and have owned them ever since.
None of you saw Mary Poppins? And that wasn't even the first either. Before founding Disney, Walt Disney and others produced "Alice and Cartoonland" in the 20s which combined a live action little girl Alice with a cartoon wonderland in a series of short flicks.
