Trespassing Laws

In the united states, what could happen if you are on private/government property (like a business or a school), that is not marked as 'no trespassing'? Doing flips off of walls, running around on the roof, etc.

Is the worst that could happen is that a officer tells you to leave? Or do they give you teh beat downz? ... Really though... Could they arrest you or anything of the like? -_-

If you are running around on the roof of a government building they will assume you are obviously a terrorist plotting some evil scheme, shoot first and ask questions later.

Depends on the time of day, and whether the building is open or closed. It could be trespassing, it could be burglary. If you do whatever at a place like that, and they tell you to leave, if you come back or don't leave, it's trespassing, and yes you can get arrested for that.

In uk trespassing isnt against the law, in respect that you cant be arrested and charged by regina. the property owner can take you to court though a civil case, for which they would have to pay for themselves. taking someone to court is nowhere near as easy as in america. so trespass all you like, just make sure your in the uk when you do it, and avoid big companies, they will take you to court... :fear:

i dunno.. i was thinking of taking a road trip to the east coast with some friends this summer and the current plan is to get a tent and just pitch it wherever when night comes. hopefully we wont get in any trespassing trouble.

If I were you guys instead of risking that if your on any turnpikes/interstates you can sleep on the sides of the road. You just cant be obstructing traffic. And cant have any alcohol open in your car. Truck drivers do it all the time. The officer will ask what your doing and all you have to say is were driving down to blah blah blah and i got tired and pulled to the side of the road so i wouldnt fall asleep driving. My uncle taught me that trick. Saves money from using motels.

some friends of mine were trying to do a kickass senior prank (they were going to let thousands of crickets loose in the school) and they were going through a dry run just to see if they could get in the school. they went up on the roof, opened the door, set off a silent alarm, and went into the school. in like 5 minutes 8 cop cars and a helicopter showed up, they tried to run, but got taken down essentially at gunpoint. they got charged with burglary even though they werent going to steal anything, because they had a crowbar with them. they ended up getting off with probation after spending 1000 bucks on a lawyer each.

at worst a cop might come by in the middle of the night and tell you to move on. you sholdn't run into any trouble. When I was in college we played a game of survivor on campus and couldn't sleep in any dorms. We slept on roofs and made tents out of tarps and riot barracades. The campus cops left us alone.
