  • Fucking MMORPG's

God. They always start out looking really awesome, with a consistent world, lots of other players to become friends or enemies with as you see fit, epic quests, and awesome classes and equpiment. How could you NOT want to play that?

But then when you start playing it turns out to just be a contest to see who has the most tolerance to extreme boredom, and you run around looking for some inane unfindable quest item while players who are 100 times better than you ever could be say such intellectually enlightening things as "wow gay noob" and "5 soj plz o u suk"
    The pleasure's all mine.

That's why we play a 2D spaceship game instead.

Well that's why I ignore people who call me a noob.

And I don't think they're boring at all. *shrugs*

Also, the boredom was referring to the tedious levelling up.

WoW is the first MMORPG I've ever played, and I'm loving it... though the server I'm on is ridiculously unbalanced, with about a 3:1 ration Alliance to Horde... me being on Horde. The only time we put up any kind of a fight is when we get REALLY organized, and even then, it's a short lived 1 hour 30 minute battle at best.

But, I've put too much time into my guy, and I don't have enough time to start another one up or else I deffinetly would.

In WoW it's all about questing, doing the right quests in the right order. Grinding is more important around 35-45 from what I found in beta but after 30 now you shouldn't gain as much so I dont know if it's worth it. People hype these games up way too much. I did expect WoW to have a lot of things like player housing and well definded trade systems (not the random auctions which provide no sense of price stability) but i'm still paying for it, the core of the game is based on warfare so I shouldn't have expected "carebear" like functions, at least not this early in development.

The stupidity you'll find in these kind of games is because stupid and annoying people love these kind of games. There simple to understand, easy to join and provide an alternative social atmosphere where little thought has to be put into actions or words. The only way to effect them that I've seen from playing EQ, UO and now WoW is hunting these people down in groups since action against their ability to exist or have the smallest voice over anyone seems to be important to them.

Yeah, MMORpG's..who likes them. All the whining and swearing at each other, hours of doing nothing and ultimately doing nothing for your real life. Oh wait, that's Continuum.

For the most part, depending on the MMORPG's that you play, they are a lot nicer than continuum. I mean, if you believe in heaven and hell and you would go to one of those based on your actions in continuum, everyone would be going to hell. Nah, im exaggerating it, the heaven to hell ratio is more of a 1:50 ratio.

The good thing about games which aren't mmorpgs is that you, for the most part, aren't as good as your equipment, only as good as your skill takes you. But, however, you only get good after a long time of playing.

Man, do i feel dorky, yeah, i am.
                  boo...
