Need a Mouse

My mouse is broken so I need a new one. It has to be wireless and optical. Please reccommend some thanks.

Logitech MX700 or MX1000

The MX700 is a cordless with regular optical sensors. It comes with a cradle for recharging purposes. I've got the MX500, which is basically a non-cordless MX700. Great mouse.

The MX1000 is a slightly different design and it uses laser technology to improve accuracy. This laser sensor is supposed to be 20x more accurate than regular optical sensors. Also comes with a cradle. More expensive than the MX700.

My advice would be to not go for any mouse based on other people's expercience alone. Always try it for yourself, before you buy it.

microsoft wireless internet explorer. I think its on its 3rd edition now or some crap with triple batt life. I have the 2nd. greattest mouse ever and it only costs about 30 bucks (dont know how many pounds).

Not meant as a flame, but seriously--why wireless? Unless it's RF (and I haven't seen very many cheap RF optical mice), it's kinda crap--dropped signal and such. Plus the whole idea of charging a mouse turns me off completely.

Give me a good old wired mouse any day. Regular old Microsoft Intellimouse Optical for the win.

i've used both wireless and wired, and the charging deal gets old. same thing with replacing batteries if you don't opt for a chargeable unit. wireless mice can also go whacky, less precision, pretty much absolute shit for any kind of FPS gaming.

i'd only go with a wireless if you really (and i mean fucking really, bucko) can't stand to have a wire draped across your desk.

During a TWBD, our base terr kept losing control. Kept flying into hordes of enemy spiders for some reason.

Turned out it was his wireless keyboard that needed new batteries. But yeah that wouldn't happen if your mouse ran out of juice I guess.

I use a laptop, and the wireless mouse is inches from the reciever, so it works accurate enough. I can see all your points applying to a Desktop, but for laptops, wireless is the way to go. I have a firewire cradle so I can turn my laptop off, hook up the cradle, and as I travel it charges via firewire, using only like 1% of my total battery. (You can do the same with the iPod, I use my laptop more often nowadays as an ipod charger i can slip into my backpack.)

as long as it is optical it is fine (dual optical even better), and a scroll is always nice, i used to have wireless, but i am gladd i bought a new one with wire, it cost me a lot of money for all the batteries...

I like using my wireless mouse for my laptop, but for my gaming on my laptop I simply need to use my cheap optical 3 button scroll wired mouse. There is less freedom, but a shitload more control.

I remember playing Day of Defeat with a wireless mouse, it was incredibly bad, and I wouldn't have minded so much if it was cheap.
