I answer questions whenever I'm playing a random public when i'm not busy. About 90 % of the time I get 3-4 people telling them to not listen to me and to do tell ESC-Q and other things to mess up their client or computer. In some cases they get the new players warned by staff. I wouldn't blame the more knowledgeable people in TW, this kind of shit talk and other public junk is in every game, where different social levels do not exist. The public players are the ones doing this, spamming, using "STFU" and other 4 letter words to sum up their vocabularies and abusing the "newbs". If all the elitist are hiding out in privates, reading the forums and playing b/elim or ?go base, how then are we teaching them anything? You could say that we're not there to set an example but I don't think killerz32323232 is picking up the shit talk from me.


We don't need new chats, even though it would help in some small way. We need Zone helpers to be in publics, listening and answering questions, playing (showing people some normal basing ships or some good dueling tactics) and even publicly offering their help in general. People are going to watch, listen and take in more if they see the ZH or ER tags.

I know that a lot of upper staff find the ZH position useless since they are mostly not meeting their quota and over all are not being useful beyond answering a call to start base or duelX. What would possess them to actually help the public if their quota was not a representation of that function?
To put it another way, why is the basic minimum that they are required to do in this zone focused in a way that does not require them to help the public most effectively?
