uh, i did this and it lost all of my settings like extensions, themes, and bookmarks.

when i started firefox up after completeing the process, it asked me about my profile. i tried to select default but it would not let me because it said it was in use. so i created a new one and this one has none of my settings.

how do i get back to default

Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.

This puts the server on heavy load. I'm using 10 right now, it's safer.

When this happens to me (it has happened a couple of times) I just kill firefox.exe from the task manager and reopen firefox. It works. I think you had 2 firefoxs running and your default profile was in use. It's a bug in firefox.

Why would anyone switch from Opera to Firefox? I'm a huge FF fan, but come on. When I tried Opera for 3 days a few months ago I switched immediately. Opera has everything you could possible need under one browser; irc, mail,rss feeds, ect.

Also, that trick is only intended for firefox users who have broadband.

Guys ... just use moox's optimized builds ... www.moox.ws ... they are noticably faster. Also easier than screwing around with the options manually.
