ummm.. well, generally nice wheels have metal spokes in gunmetal, aluminum and chrome... which aren't very flexible.. so they wouldn't work to well... so those tires are kind of stuck being ugly.

If you look at the pics of Kim, you have the rims, and then those thingies wich bent and stuff, and then the profile, I am sure you can put some rubber between the profile and the rims, so they look more like how wheels look now.

I think that would look even worse, then you'd have a big huge sidewall and a little tiny rim in the middle.

and no volcs, they'll never look like regular rims, but I really just think it's a matter of getting used to it. It'll start with people who care about performance.

The cool thing is that they can make them out of all different colors of rubber.

It's really hard to imagine how they would work... would they be better for traction, worse, the same? What about how long they last?

I wouldn't know where to start, it's just so.. different!
And what about huge SUVs, would that reduce or increase the chance of tipping and rollovers?

(And to think, our children will look back at our 19" wheels and say 'what fags...')

They remind me of those "moon boots" I had as a kid, where you walk on this big hallow oval with elastics that hold you up. Awww.. I want my moon boots back

I was expecting some French guy to be talking, or was this an Michelin-American idea?

These tires make so much fucking sense.

What is so much better about these tires that you would wanna switch over from air to non air? So far I haven't heard anything wich actually made it worth while to switch over, besides the fact that you never have to put new air into them ever again. I guess you can still get a flattire, but then in a different way.

Not if you dont use studded tires at winter.
I used hmmm....friction tires for few years

Now i have studded tires for a change..

Its frustrating to write these lines after every post^
I'd hope there would be another way..like some automatic system that fills them itself after every post.

I think the wheels look nice. Sans chrome, of course. But the trnedy thing now are those mega rims that leave like 2 inches of rubber tread, these just look like those.
