Hmmm ... but it's 70€ cheaper to get one there. That's about $95 or so ... would shipping it over that expensive ?
I'm now actually considering buying the 20GB iPod .. cuz when I buy a mp3 player I think I won't buy a new one that fast. And it might be better to pay a bit more for it and get a really good one than which I can use for a long time. Not sure at all yet though ... : <<<

For those who are interested, I bought the iPod mini.
Why ?? Because it was the cheapest, and still a cool design, and I decided that 4gig is enough for my usage.
And added to that, the iPod got the most leet additional stuff you can get.

I think the iriver h320 is the best mp3 player money can buy..its sound quality is much better then the Ipoo and it can also play videos through a firmware upgrade.
The h320 got a 20gig hd which is enough to store shit loads of songs and videos.
However the h320 has a 1 hour 40 mins video playback limit which i think should be enough for most films.

I personally own a h320 and i highly recommend it..

why its cool: controls are somewhat complext at first and then they are really really easy. everything about this player is easy, i can do anything i want on it.

playlist features: making playlists is easy. you can use winamp or you can just put song numbers in file names and it will play them in order. it is easy to find what you need because you can browse songs by file, album, artist, and genre. file is my favorite, because you can flagrantly disregard id3 tags if you choose to browse by file. finding songs is exactly how it is on your computer. you can do plenty of other things you should be able to, like shuffle, etc.

special features: holy shit, i love this. the screen is fully color, so you can upload pics and view them. you can listen to radio. you can store and view text files.

my favorite special feature: dude, the recorder on this thing is bad ass. it comes in with a built in recorder that makes mp3 recordings of suprisingly high quality. on my computer i have recordings of myself playing guitar, my friends on drunken rants, old songs that i had on tapes so i could not put on my computer, important class lectures, and anything else i should care to record in my life. i use the thing all the time and it is fun. hit record, stick it in your pocket.

but you should buy one that can play WMAs.

a 2-Pass VBR WMA 9 at 64 KBPs sounds like a 128 mp3 and you get double the memory for your money. use only an encoder that uses the latest version of wma which i believe is still 9. use 2-pass VBR at 64 or 96 and youll have good sound for less memory

someone i know has the RCA one and it plays 2-Pass VBR WMA 9's. he bought two 256 mb memory cards and has gotten double the amount of songs on it he would have otherwise. memory is expensive

Even if you want to encode 2-Pass VBR WMA 9s at 128 or 160, youll have your self the sound of a 192 or better mp3

i cant understand why everyone still uses MP3, even independant artist sites all use mp3 and wont accept the better sounding WMA which has been around now for quite some time

HOLY SHIT EVACUATE YOU JUST MADE MY DAY..

i looked into what you said and by god you are right. all i need to do is download something and poof i can put videos on my player. looking into it also caused my to learn some other stuff.

for instance, i got about 10 hours out of it using the surround sound equalizer option. i found out that this one takes more battery. i can save a couple hours by listening to a less demanding setting. wowwwwwwwwwwww this thing owns me.

WHAT ?!?! I don't understand a thing what ur saying there .. But I do know about WMA and stuff. But the iPod has other formats aswell. Like "AAS" etc. I believe it supports .WMA too. Not sure though.

its AAC and it doesnt support wma, it converts wma into AAC in itunes.

evac! need help... i just updated my iriver's firmware to 1.27, is that all i need to play video? i was looking at the picture you posted and mine has no video icon. i am aware that i need a program to convert video files to the correct format.. is this all i need?

anyway to play videos in your iriver u first need to upgrade your firmware to the latest one..then to play videos in it u need some kind of video encoder to encode the video to play properly on your iriver.

Its quite easy, there is this program that i use (created in vb, sry if u use mac ) It converts any videos to the right format for the iriver..
