  • Movie themed video games.

I just saw a commercial for the Episode 3 video game, and I was wondering if I'm the only one that doesn't want to play these games before/ the day the movie comes out? I haven't touched these types of games since Spiderman 1, and I wanted to know if any of the recent ones besides Riddick have been good, or were they just cash cows?
My father in law was telling me over Thanksgiving about this amazing bartender at some bar he frequented who could shake a martini and fill it to the rim with no leftovers and he thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen. I then proceeded to his home bar and made four martinis in one shaker with unfamiliar glassware and a non standard shaker and did the same thing. From that moment forward I knew he had no compunction about my cock ever being in his daughter's mouth.

I thought the two LOTR games (Two Towers, Return of the King) were pretty badass. I wouldn't say that's the norm, but they were pretty good.
Music and medicine, I'm living in a place where they overlap.

In my personal experience none of the movie related games I've played have been good. Maybe this is due to the fact that such games are rushed to meet with the movie. That and game creators will slap any old shit togethor knowing that the name will sell the product.

Hehe, remember the Matrix? That game sold so welll. On top of the charts all summer and that game sucked badly.

Most cross-media endevours suck horribly. However the Star Wars games are all made by Lucasarts which has been in the business of making Star Wars games for about 20 years. Some of them have actually been pretty good. I recommend getting Jedi Knight 2, that game was sweet. Knights of the Old Republic by Bioware was good too. But those aren't really based on any specific movie, just Star Wars games in general. I can't really think of any movie based games that I've liked.
I have stopped swimming in the rock pools a few days ago. Now instead of 40 minutes swimming, I substitute it with 40 minutes power walk - usually on the beaches or around the cliffs. Nothing beats burning the fat in the cold wind. Colon minus pee.

I agree with those to, And although I have no money right now to buy the star wars game I really would like to try it.

I enjoyed Jedi Academy, I guess that's sorta based on a movie.

Also, The Thing was a pretty fun play. It also was loosely based on a movie, but a fun game overall.

something happened when they released the episode 1 game years ago, people boycotted it so not to ruin the film, good tactic,

how about game themed movies? supposedly these games are in the works for movies:

                  spy hunter
                  silent hill
                  tekken
                  splinter cell
                  halo
                  doa
                  metal gear
                  hunter:the reckoning
                  area 51
                  psi-ops
                  driver
                  soul calibur

im sure there are more but these are at least a few that are having scripts written, or being pitched to the movie companies.

Although I am mad about Metal Gear, I'm not particually mad about there being a film made of it. Unless they make it a CG film, Snake wouldn't be Snake without the voice of David Hayter. It may be ok if Hideo Kojima is involved. But just like 90% of all video-game-come-film films, it will more than likely be crap

                      prime example:- Tomb Raider

i know im going off topic but it seems that books that become movies seem to be having the biggest influence at the moment.

There's also a Metroid film in the works. That one intrigues me because I love the games but also because John Woo has optioned the rights to it.

They don't have a script yet and Woo hasn't announced that he would direct it; he just owns the rights to it. That isn't to say that he won't decide to direct it though. I'm sort of wondering how he'll explain white doves flying in slow motion across a cavern on the planet Zebes.
