what were your favorite songs and groups way back when? do you still like them?

as for me, my mom used to play a classic rock station as she drove me to preschool every day. i loved "live and let die" by paul mccartney and also "here comes the sun" by the beatles. i think here comes the sun was my first favorite song ever. anyway i have always been a classic rock and beatles fan because of those days.

in 3rd or 4th grade i would go to birthday parties at skating rings and sometimes heard "i saw the sign" by ace of base. it amazed me. ace of base became the first cassette tape i ever bought. i still like them today.

i also liked mellon collie and the infinite sadness by the smashing pumpkins, what's the story morning glory by oasis, and tubthumper by chumbawumba.. i still like all of these.

ps. we should have a music discussion forum

When I was a little child, my parents always made me listen to Classical stuff, so my favorite songs back then were usually missas, requiems, and, oh, Bach, I liked Bach a lot.
And I still do, but I also listen to progressive rock now!

Somebody will post a song that they consider to be an "old" song which will suddenly make me feel old.

Hmm, I always had a soft spot for
              "So happy together" -Turtles,
"Cats in the Cradle" - Harry Chapin,
"Yellow Submarine" - do I really need to say?
and even though is annoys most people, "American Pie" - Don McLean
Edit: I like Queen and such, but I don't really think of them as old music :/
People who are rather more than six feet tall and nearly as broad across the shoulders often have uneventful journeys. People jump out at them from behind rocks then say things like, "Oh. Sorry. I thought you were someone else."

I was a huge early Beatles fan when I was a kid. Probably I wanna hold your hand or Eleanor Rigby, though. Still a huge Beatles fan to this day, too.

If you like Sloan you should definitely check out the new Fruit Bats... even castromarx thinks they have a lot in common.

EDIT: It's not out yet. Contact me.
