Then you really aren't missing out on anything new. But, if you're new to the series, then go and pick up DW 5 or, if you wanna save money, get DW 4 Xtreme Legends or Empires.

Xtreme Legends has more story mode levels as well as weapons and items to collect. Empires brings in a "Risk" style map to the gameplay as well as a card system. You pick which region of China to attack. Decide whether or not to help a neighboring ruler or not. You win when you conquer all of China.

The graphics are better in 5. Enemies don't pop onto your screen as much. The Musuo mode is different too in that each character has a diiferent path unlike 4 where characters in the same faction fight the same battles. The stronghold system is nice but it would be better if their effects were more apparent.

Yeah, the stronghold system just gives your troops a morale boost, which can be more or less evident depending on where you are on the map.

Do you have skill options like in Samurai Warriors?

I played 4, and its not really challenging. Story mode is cool though.

1-3 wasn't good but 4 was alright. I liked they're Samurai Warriors games more then Dynasty Warriors, only downside is that there's no Lu Bu.

DW is fun to playw ith a friend
