    Hey,

I've recently taken a liking to ska music however problem is that I know very little of the ska scene. I'm just hoping for some help as to what are some good bands/songs that I should download,

    Thanks.

Sumpson's got an album of this Euro ska band called Liberator, I'd give it to you but my laptop is off the rocker atm.

Catch 22, Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution, The Specials, tand Streetlight Manifesto.

    Songs:
Jeffreys Fan Club - "I Must Be Stupid"
The Specials - "A Message To You, Rudy"
    The Specials - "Stupid Marriage"
    The Skatalites - "Malcolm X"
Streetlight Manifesto - "The Big Sleep"
    Streetlight Manifesto - "Point/Counterpoint"

I'll let Cops handle the rest

Jerome was right on the money with his picks. To me (and most of the ska community), Catch 22 Keasbey Nights is the best ska album there is. BOTAR was their side project and they released an EP that had completely acoustic instruments which was amazing. And Streetlight Manifesto is the current form of the band, and yes, Everything Goes Numb is right up there with Keasbey. So if I were you, I'd get those CDs first, as they are the best. The following bands are also quite good:

Aquabats (The Fury of the Aquabats)
Big D and the Kids Table (Good Luck)
          Capdown (Civil Disobedients)
Choking Victim/Leftover Crack/INDK (No Gods No Managers, Mediocre Generica, Kill Whitey)
Five Iron Frenzy (Our Newest Album Ever)
          The Impossibles (Anthology '94-'98)
          Less Than Jake (Losing Streak)
The Mad Caddies (Duck and Cover)
          MU330 (Chumps on Parade)
          Mustard Plug (Evildoers Beware)
          Operation Ivy (Energy)
          The Parka Kings (Bienvenidos!)
The Planet Smashers (Life of the Party)
          Potshot (Pots and Shots)
Reel Big Fish (Turn the Radio Off)
Rx Bandits (Halfway Between Here and There)
          Slapstick (Lookit!)
The Suicide Machines (Destruction by Definition)
