Before I played Subspace I played Battlecity, before it was taken down. That was 7 years ago now.

But now Battlecity is back. I don't know if any of you remember it, but it's definatly worth checking out. It's free, just like Subspace (yeah, yeah, Continuum).

Even if you have never played it before, check it out. The community is just getting on it's feet; we don't have 400 players on at a time like this game does, but give it a chance.

Here's a bit of an outline of the game:

Players can either build their own city or join a friends city! The ultimate goal is to destroy enemy cities while defending your base from attackers!

You will begin your military career as a Private, the lowest possible rank. It’s your job to earn points and work your way to the top! The day you are promoted to General, players will bow down before you. (It will also probably be the happiest day of your life.)

the graphics leave something to be said.

it also looks hard to distinguish buildings and whatnot.

Graphics look horrible, but I think gameplay is awesome!

The graphics are unique and are the same vintage graphics as they were years ago.

The chat is alot more simple right now, just enter to talk to anyone in the same sector as you, you need a walkie to talk to your team when they go outside of it, which you pickup at a factory.

For now, the res is hardcoded. It might be changeable one day but there is already a long to-do list.

And I have no idea how you could say it's hard to distinguish buildings, unless you are just talking about from the screenshot.

Only the most shallow people consider a game bad solely on the foundation that is has bad graphics.

If you think graphics make a game why the hell are you playing subspace :P

i just have to reiterate what cokesplash just said. what game are we all playing? have you LOOKED at the graphics in ss lately? complaining about bad graphics in another game... there's so much irony it hurts. IT HURTS!

Not to mention these games are free. Right now Battlecity has one person programming it.

Can you really complain?
