I bought ATDI's new album today (i hesitate to call it their greatist hits - the only song with any real radio time was 'one armed scissor') and the pink floyd cover is great, plus i now have a version of doorman's placebo that isn't recorded from my dad's hi-fi so its good quality

the DVD is fanfuckingtastic too

edit: the latch brother's remix of "rascuache" is AWESOME

Today I was at the campus indie cd store (the kind where the cashier falls down in a stone fit of the giggles when trying to make change) and I couldn't find any bear or shark related bands (or the equivalant where they are pitted against eachother)

i highly doubt you'll be able to get your hands on any sharks keep moving. they only released a few albums starting back in '98 and ending (i think) in either late '99 or early '00, not to mention they were never widely known (not even really known that much at all as far as i know) to begin with. that being said, anyone who'd like to have a listen, let me know and i'll set you up with a song or two, or maybe even an ep.

i also highly doubt you'll find it on bt. the only place i found it was on soulseek, and a grand total of ONE user (who just happened to sign on one fateful night) had any.

i have everything they've ever released, but i got it from a friend who actually owns the stuff.

EDIT: after reading this post i realized that i'm starting to sound pretty music snobbish/elitist over this band. my apologies. i just really fucking dig 'em. that's all.

i think the thing that pisses me off most about dash is the fact that so few people actually get some of his lyrics. i'm talking to this girlie the other day. she says she's listening to screaming infidelities. i tried to make a joke by saying, "hair being everywhere wouldn't exactly scream infidelity to me. it'd have to be everywhere AND have a little jizz in it." she absolutely didn't get it at all. she just gives me a "huh?" and i ended up spending ten minutes explaining one goddamn line out of the song, perhaps THE most important line of the song at that.

don't fucking appreciate music because the dude's voice has a whine to it that happens to be harmonious with your feelings of despair. for christ's sake, that's just stupid.
