I'm sure there's a lot more with non-cookie-cutter topic names that I didn't pick up too.
Well I didn't check them all, but I'm confident over half of them still play trenchwars in one form or another. The point I'm trying to make is shut up. If you want to go, just go. Most people claim that they need to let friends know about it, but they could just easily drop a message or use some kind of icq/msn/aim to tell friends about it. And even then, I dont think they'd care a shitload. And for those of you who think making a retirement thread actually makes you more popular..no. As a matter of fact, if you slip away silently, people will actually start talking about it.
So to reduce further wastes of bandwidth with its subsequent pages of replies on such a useless topic, just stop starting them.
