Run the installer thru

C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\YourEmailAddress@provider.co m

I think is the right path, might be wrong.

When you get it in the right directory, it should appear under the "third party games" of My Games under the steam program.

edit: I just saw it after watching this post. That was beautiful, loved that video.

Just put it in different folders, try your hl2 folder itself. Trial and error will get you far.
