Interestingly enough, I have an anecdote about something similar.
A couple years back, this guy was working as a mechanical engineer in Antartica, on a 3 week inspection/ trip there. He was staying at an American base, and making sure all their stuff worked right. The New Zealand base is about half an hours walk from the American base, and he'd been invited over for dinner. (seeing as he was a New Zealand citizen and all) When the big boss man of the american base heard of this, he called the man into his office. Big boss man said "Thou shalt not go and inspect the New Zealand base's stuff, for I shalt smite thee. For I am overwhelmed by my sense of power." So he said, sure... why not.
So he went over, inspected the NZ base's stuff, and big boss man never found out.
