Generally, I like the SaGa series. The problem I had with Unlimited SaGa was that it seemed like they tried every possible innovation to sap as much fun out of it as possible. The pacing was slow and the graphics had the potential to be amazing but were severely limited. I mean, the movie scenes and the fight animations were beautiful, but most of the game is spent moving a 2D token around a repetitive surface. You'd also spend the better part of an hour exploring an area and killing the enemies only to face a boss that was way too powerful as you've lost most of your life points just to get that far. The only reason I haven't traded the game in yet is because I'm too stubborn to say that this game has beaten me. There's just so much depth to the game that it could have been great, but it's like they made it as hard as possible to like the game.

Anyone tried Chrono Cross? Always wanted to try it, but never got to.

It's good but not as good as Chrono Trigger.

Chrono Cross was awesome, slightly not as great as Trigger, but still a VERY good game. In Chrono Cross, there wasn't any timetraveling but rather dimension traveling. You would travel to the same world, but in an alternate dimension where things are VERY different.

I really enjoyed SaGa Frontier II. I never got to beat it though, as I did a side quest to get a item that would prevent instant death and loss of LP so I could go against the final form of the Egg. However, it turned out that my item storage was full, so I killed the side boss but it never gave me the item, since as I said, my storage was full. So I just couldn't out last the boss, because every other attack or every third attack would either instant kill or take off a LP from everyone, and you only have so many LP before you can no longer revive someone.

Sheesh this thread really makes me want to bust out one of the old FF games and play it again.

I'm leaning towards probably FFT or FF3J... I love the job system.

If we haven't talked about this already, try Disgaea, in my opinion it beats out FFT for King of the Strat RPG.

They're just upset because Zidane didn't need to hold onto a really big sword. I mean, you don't have to be that much of a Freudian to ask "what's up with that?".

Or perhaps they don't like him because he actually had a personality.

Uhhh, you do remember like his end weapons right, when you stick the two knives together and get a really big two sworded stick...thats wya cooler than anything Cloud used.
