just went to see this flick, any joss whedon fans (lol this is a subspace board obviously some of u are) should definitely check this out, it was pretty awesome. heard theyre making 2 more, $$

Angel at leats got canceled in it's 5th season and could end. There was no end of firefly, they only got 11 episodes.

I saw serenity, and liked it, except for a little bit where i criticize the writing from joss. it's oriented so firefly fans like it, as well as people who have never seen the show.


The movie is about a crew on a ship called Serenity. They're outlaws, smugglers and thieves, but they're the heros none the less. The movie centers around a girl named River whos part of the crew. The Alliance (think empire in star wars) did something to her, and nobody is completly sure what, shes quite in and out of sanity in the tv show and the movie is no different. It's explained exactly what happened to her in the movie. Basically, guns, and humour, with some slashy slashy, and things of that nature. It's Sci-fi but realistic sci-fi, not star trek. Humanity still have the same problems as of today and the like.


The universe he created is actually quite interesting and i suggest checking out the show. basically he's got the USA and China being the only two real superpowers left, and they merge into the Anglo-Sina Alliance (or something like that) so everybody speaks english, and chinese. Music is very VERY culture formed, with pieces and instruments from different cultures fused into one, just like clothes and the like. It's a western but in space, because we had to abandon earth because we used it up, so we terraformed an entire solar system, plus moons, and live there. The middle is the alliance, the outer is sort of a rim no good nick area with rough fellers.

I've watched all the episodes of Firefly (including ones that wern't aired) and I have to say the series wasn't excellent. However, I do look forward to some closure on the whole 'Doctor and his sister' thing so I'll definitly be watching it when I can.

I liked it alot, haven't seen alot of Firefly, but I liked firefly too. Seemed different compared to regular firefly, but I guess that's just them trying to draw in more of an audience.

Go see it in the theatres, bring your friends. I've seen it twice. I'm a rather large fan of p2p and file sharing in general, but Serenity is a movie you shouldn't just go download.

Universal Studios will not produce a sequel to the film unless it grosses at least $80 million. That's less than break even for them, on a $45 million film. If they can do that they'll fund another movie... and I'm one of those people who is interested in the story and wants to find out how things play out.

yea im a hardcore firefly fan aswell, and the movie just totally kicked ass,, and for us who have seen the movie, WHY THE FUCK DID HE HAVE TOO ______ _______ .

SIGH, seriously i spent like 10 minutes agonizing over that while the movie was still playing.

wow, amazing movie. saw it with my brother(promes) and he loved it too, love the part where they're all holding off the last Reaver forces and Kaylee goes " we're not going to make it out" and that guy goes "what? maybe i will!" and when they go "WE'VE BEEN EMP'ed" haha, great action, can't wait to see the other 2

agreed, i forgot to mention that. whedon's projects have been fucked over alot, this is a good chance to make sure that doesnt happen. i love p2p, but when creative games/movies come out it feels good to support the developers

Seemed like a typical action movie to me, the script was horrible, the plot didn't really grab my interest and most of the acting was poorly done as well. It was enjoyable none the less, but not a movie I'd go to see again, or even see a sequel of.

I thought it was pretty good. I'm a fan of Firefly so it was really good to see just why the hell River was in the series to begin with. I am, however, rather miffed about you know what.... "I am a leaf in the wind!"

The last couple days I've been watching the show a lot and it makes me want to see the movie again.

And btw, Mal would shoot Greedo first, screw Lucas :P
