Was an AMAZING movie, wtfbbqqrofl. The amount detail and hard work put in the characters, backgrounds and into the thought of motion itself, is staggering.
Thought of motion? The movie was made with stop motion animation, which means that they basically used models of each character, tree, everything and shot it one frame at a time. Every blink, every turn, every mouth movement equals one click of the Super 8 camera, or another type of camera that can process single frames. To put it in perspective, it would take maybe 3-4 frames to show a person yawning, 6-7 frames to show a person sneezing, etc etc.

Anyway, thought of motion. It just boggles the mind to think of how many frames it took to animate this movie, and how much they must have planned out before they started. After all, they had to know how far they wanted a character's head to turn, how many times a eyeball should plop in a bowl of soup (shush it's in the movie), and so on. If they had just winged it, they would have wasted tons of film, time and manpower.
The character designs are all wacky and varied, so no one person seems like a carbon copy of eachother (except for 3 skeleton bandmembers), even the random townspeople all have variety in them. Story is well done, some what original, and the ending is nice as well. The transitions from scene to scene are wonderful, cinematography , color selection choices, blah blah blah. This topic is basically an animation major jerking off in a corner about this movie.
