Yeah the new iMac has better graphics and memory capability than the current powermacs. Not to mention the remote thing is pretty spiffy.

I can get MPEGs off of my replayTV. Download a couple of shows per week, walk around with them and still have many gigs left for music.

I'm going to buy one and move far, far away from work so I have a long commute by train.

EDIT: you know how many iPods you see on at the airport? All those rich business people who travel are going to buy three of these.

They're trendy, cute, have a lot of storage for music to listen to and apparently movies to watch, and are smaller than CD players and they can clip onto things

They're fashion statements as well as useful

(I don't really know if they're fashion statements for the guys as much as us girls but they're still cool-looking either way so whatever)

The Cowon iAudio X5 has had video-playing capabilities as well for awhile, although I haven't actually seen one because of its obscurity. It rivals the iPod in terms of Hardware and capabilities, but the iPods accessories simply overwhelm the iPod for those who want more in a multifunction audio player.

Because iPods are trendy good looking well made functional devices and the video iPods have the itunes music store, as weight behind it? Like being able to buy episodes of Lost for $1.99 each?

I'm sort of pissed at Apple because I waited until I thought the iPod couldn't get any better (The 4th gen 40gb non-colorscreen iPod), dropped $400 on it. Now, for $400, you can get a 60-gig, full-color, video playing iPod with like 5 more hours of battery life and it's 10% thinner than the 20-gig 4th gen, to boot.

Fuck.

my iriver's full color, 20 gig, movies, radio, internal & external recording capable, views picutes and texts, and was $266. and it's only a tiny bit bigger than ipod, with 16 hour battery life and works flawlessly.
