When I said they block out sound at maxed out volume, I was talking about when I had to wait for the bus. I didn't hear traffic or anything. But when I got indoors, it was really loud, so I turned them down. I guess that may sound strange, but I already have a hearing problem that's totally unrelated to music and volume, I've had it since birth. Complicated...But yes, that's pretty sound advice. Get it?! Sound advice?! I'm am witty.

I'm a bit confused by how your posts went from extolling the virtues of Bose to apparently very angry talk about how headphone knowledge should be shoved up one's ass. IMHO, a little knowledge is useful for getting better quality at a lower price - to trash someone for sharing a bit of it or making a few recommendations is far excessive.

BTW, nice deal for Sennheiser PXC250's here:

Basically a smaller, foldable, more convenient version of Bose QC2. Slightly better sound quality IIRC.

It wasn't directed towards the original poster, it was just a general notice.

the difference between most other headphones and the titanium diaphramed Pro 35 is like the difference between night and day. once you take your portable CD/MP3 player to radio shack and ask to try them you will believe me and know. have the bass boost turned off. until then you think this is just another opinion.

i have a pair of BOSE QuietComfort 2's and I have no complaints. i have an audigy zs 2 notebook card and 5.1 logitech surround sound speakers and between that or the BOSE headsets it's pretty much the same amazing, crisp sound. I like the noise reducing, although it could be a bit better (but it gets the job done, especially when listening to music/movie and not using them for reading), they also do a great job of not projecting sound to people around you, and theyre insanely comfortable, come with extension coords, plugs and a nice carrying case and they fold up.

                    300$ is a ripoff but whatever :/

Hmmp, my Beyerdynamic's finally broke up. And I don't have enough cash to buy new BD's so I ordered Sennheiser HD-555's that cost 81€ ($97). I hope they are worth it, tho I've read lots of good about them.

I don’t think they are as good as your old ones but well worth the money.

I, for one, hate headphones. I prefer earbuds, I'm thinking about buying these soon. Unfortunately, they just came out in january so I can't find any feedback for them.
