Batista injured his back during the Smackdown taping last week. He'll be out for a while, and the plan was for Eddie to beat him for the belt before he takes his time off. Right now it looks like they need a plan B quickly.

I'm in shock. Eddie Guerrero was one of the best at what he did. He gave 100% night in and night out. During his heel runs he even made fans despise him off-camera. That's what separates the great heels from the merely good ones. His feuds were always entertaining to watch, and he will definitely be missed.

I can't believe people forget the Eddie vs RVD and Eddie vs Edge Ladder matches, those were some of the most ridiculous matches ever.

I was disappointed Chavo didn't wrestle on raw, since in his interview he said he would. I knew the show was going to be rough, when all the superstars gathered and you could see Show and Benoits face, they were just losing it. I admit the Benoit interview was hard to watch, because he just couldn't hold it in anymore. The matches were good, and different, just like Eddie. You had aerial moves, you had mat work, you had everything in between. I also liked how the show ended, with the shirt and the belt.


I hope Chavo uses the frog splash now, I wanted him to win the main event with it. Somehow it seems only fitting.


EDIT: and as far as the people insulting a man that they never knew, or have never even heard of, you are the lowest pieces of shit ont he planet, and believe me, you'll get yours -- they always do. To insult a dead man takes 0 guts, and you certainly don't look cool doing it. You look like a jackass, and thats what you are. When people read that, they all think the exact same thing. I think Chavo might have decided to wrestle for the Smackdown taping. That's going to be a tribute show too, and both shows are going to be inter-promotional. Benoit didn't wrestle on the Raw show either. Eddie was always more of a Smackdown guy anyway, even when he was on Raw, so seeing Benoit and Chavo, the two on the roster that were the closest to Eddie, will likely wrestle on Smackdown.

Dean Malenko was there for the tribute. He's retired from active wrestling and is now a trainer, but I wouldn't be surprised if he and Benoit had a match on Smackdown.

On topic, I went to a Smackdown event when I was a freshman in college--I had this film major floormate who was absolutely obsessed with the drama of the WCW. The two "highlights" of the night were:

1) Having beers with Goldberg and Diamond Dallas Page at some craptastic mexican bar that we coincidentally all went to after the show.

2) The same film major friend running up to us (he had gotten close to the catwalk before some of the matches) about halfway through the show and exclaiming "Holy shit! Billy Kidman and Eddie Guerrero just told me to fuck off! That's so awesome!"
