The people I've played with were never good with Falcon, he was too slow. In melee I don't mind using Gannandor once in awhile (Falcon clone) just because it's fun to do what I like to call " purple magic" (one-shotting with a kick or a punch).

Did you still use Falcon in Melee? Falc"o", Fox, Pikachu and a good Shiek player are the hardest opponents I've had.

I was mixing Falco with Fox. I use Falco more than Fox since he doesn't fall so damn fast when he jumps, Sheik seem to fall a bit slower than Fox. And Falco is a bit stronger than Fox, but slower.

The only thing I miss with Sheik is a strong attack to finish opponents earlier.

Falcon was slow as shit though. But if you got off a Falcon Punch at full power.. OOH BOY U GUN GET IT

he has about the highest attack range out of anyone in the game though, and as long as you nail them with it at the right moment (first, before they do their trademark whatever attack) you will nail them hard and then it's just juggle fest until you decide to boot them off the map.

In the rare occasion i try to see if melee can be play I always use falcon, i've tried the other characters, the fire emblem boy are obviously fucked up, but the computers of him are stupid. again, only one other person i know (read: talk to in person, which totals to about 5 or 6 people) will even play it and usually he gets bored of it before i get frustrated, after that i fire up all the computers against me and watch them somehow nullify falcon's long ass piercing kicks with tiny lite punches, and even grabbing (you and i can meet and i can jump up and kick you, you tell me if you can fucking grab my foot and throw me instantly, now apply this situation as though you were a 12 year old stubby limbed and big headed kid named ness. ps- fuck melee) and this is just before the debalance of the other characters, i may even be fine with them if their attackingboxes dont hit my attacking box as a hittable box, becaus eonce again, falcon is a rocket hovercar driver with huge piston legs, and when i quick luigi in the fucking torso while he's down+b spinning around like a moron it should knock him over and he should be puking and then you should be able to keep kicking him while he's all huddled over. it only things such as this that could possibly make me forgive anyone for the mockery of a game that is melee, where as the situation goes down in it, magically his spinning torso hits falcon's speeding foot and he takes some sort of damage from it and most likely get hit again by the final hit as it travels super fucking fast at the end, and they'll always be pushing the stick towars you, as they know the final one smashes and you're still recovering from your kicking foot being hit as it you were just fucking standing there and his hand hit you in the face as he spun like the attack is meant for. in critical moments (100%+) this error isso incredibly fucking visible as the final smash that shouldn't even have been executed once you kicked'em will send you off the map.

Things only get messier from there on, playing this game is only displeasing to myself, I've tried many times but still have yet to take away any and fun in the form of a gameplay experience from it, EVER.

Hmm. Now that I think about it, you make a good point Creags. I still like Melee better, but it's grapple hold (which should only able to go forward or backward, not those stupid up and down throws which serve no strategic purpose other than frustrate the other player to chuck the Wavebird at your head) on me is loosening.

Throwing up for further combo if you are a fast melee character, I can end your life if i can get you in mid air at 70+%.

Throwing down for lame free hits, mirror shield with Fox, spinning sword with Link.

Melee is perfectly balanced.
