I got a gmail account within a couple of days after they were released. Used it for a few months. It sucks. If you want 1 gig of info for free use yahoo mail. Yahoo mail loads faster plus gmail wont even let you send or receive executable files, zips, and other types. Yahoo does. Both free, both 1 gig of space. Oh yea... and you don't need an "invite". www.yahoo.com

You could well be right but I'll try gmail for now. It's mainly the spam that gets on my nerves.

i have gmail, and i believe it deals with spam very well..

I get a ton of spam in my gmail. And I don't like the fact that there aren't any folders.

You just select: Report Spam, and you never see it again

Labels are ok, but I still need my folders! I'm the type of person where everything has to be classified and organized. I go crazy when I have more than about 10 emails in my inbox. Obviously, with over 300, I'm probably legally insane.

Yeah same here, though there was some problem with hotmail (for me) when they had the space on 2mb, but now 25mb is just awesome. All the space I need for emails w/o attachments. I think 25mb is the standard these days.

label then press archive. your inbox dissapears!

Hotmail is horrible. I only use it for places where I can expect some spam, like when I register on some site I have no idea of

It's not the same! I like everything to be ORGANIZED as well as uncluttered. Sure, my inbox wouldn't be cluttered anymore but my archive would be!

Hotmail is good, but mostly only for using MSN messenger. Gmail is much nicer and faster to work with (very great now with the google personalize homepage feature). I don't have a problem with either, Hotmail blocks everything and gmail gets the occasional spam that you just put into your spam folder. I don't recommend other e-mail services unless they're paid, because most are really terrible.
