As to trolling. Trolling is obviously the action of a Troll. A Troll is someone who haunts a forum for the express purpose of posting inflamatiroy remarks designed only to enrage others and invoke a reaction.

I spent many, many hours on the JAE fighting Trolls before it occured to me that shouting back was not nearly as effective as adding them to a public black listing. That really pissed a lot of them off. There was one Troll that I beat to the point where he was very sorry.

You see, he's from a university, and used the PC's there to Troll our newsgroup. He was very abusive and cruel, so I took 28 examples of his work and after some research into his origin, I sent them to the administration of the University. It was quite satisfing to see the wheels of buracracy whirl into life with the threat of being flooded with more of the same.

Trolls are a waste of everyone's time and I have been fighting them for many many years. The only thing you get from a troll is a constant reply of trashing, so the best way to get past them is to add them to an ignore list and the kindest thing you can do with that is spread the information to others.

Edit: I have to admit that often I enjoy looking at how Trolls respond to this. A lot of the time they seem to think that you care about what they have to say after you start ignoring them. The trick is not to care because this is what they are looking for and it's the only thing it doesn't matter how logical or resonable you are being their whole purpose is to destory that.
