Ok so after retiring many repeat x-mass gifts i conned my rents into letting me get a Pentium 4, but i only want it, no new computer no nothing, just the Pentium 4. So being the good boy i was i searched where to buy one and naturally because im lazy i got no results. Any help? And also do you think i could install it myself?

You do realize that if you had anything less than a Pentium 4 (and I assume you mean just the processor), that you'll probably have to upgrade the motherboard as well, right? And when upgrading a motherboard, you might as well upgrade other things (like RAM) to really make use of your shiny new P4. P4 mobos almost always also use an extra lead off of the PSU, so unless your previous computer was a P4, you'll probably have to get a new one of those too. Hell, even if you have an older P4, there's a slight chance that (if you go for a high-end P4) you'll have to upgrade the mobo anyways.
My advice? Unless you know what you're doing, I wouldn't be messing around with re-tooling your machine. You'll just end up burning up a $400 processor. And if there's one thing that the Pope hates, it's a crispy P4. Prepare yourself of an eternity of damnation, Hogo.
But, if you insist on doing this, Pricewatch is always a good first place to go to check on pricing. Make sure to cross-check with Reseller Ratings (www.resellerratings.com) to give you a better idea that you're not getting fucked at any specific vendor. Buy a boxed/retail processor (not OEM). That way, you won't have to worry about getting a compatible heatsink/fan. I'll go ahead and recommend www.allstarshop.com -- they've always been good to me, although not the cheapest out there.Music and medicine, I'm living in a place where they overlap.
