Not necessarily. Someone who is good at remembering/working out formulas and equations might not be as adept at diagnosing patients as quickly as another doctor. Someone who is poor in the formula area might be better at reading peoples moods and body language, and thus might be able to pinpoint the problem area alot faster.

PG, your response implies that one wants to live as long as possible. I would much rather die in my midlife having everything gone easy for me than to suffer most of my life (with cancer, or such) and be smart enough to know it.

I dunno, a hot nurse much like a hot doctor makes patients happier. At least I think so. And patient happiness is important for good health! Of course intelligence makes a big deal, but with proper training, most people who are reasonably smart and in medicine will be able to do most things in medicine more or less equally. Sure some doctors are better than others, but it's less directly based on things like intelligence and beauty, but more on 'how you treat your patients' and 'how much you care about your patients'. While it's true that once in a while you'll see a case that is truly bizzare, but 99% of the stuff you see in medicine is quite standard and all doctors in the proper specialty should be qualified to diagnose and treat. That's why there's standardized testing and up to 11 years of medical training before you can practice on your own.


But overall, I'd say that intelligence is something that can be used to benefit a lot of people, while beauty will only benefit the person who gets to have sex with you. I think the large number of bad porn out there, proves you don't need beauty to really benefit the masses. But intelligence is responsible for everything we have in society including the very computer I'm typing on right now.

I skimmed through the 3 pages of posts, so my bad in advance if I'm being redundant.

I think that the more beautiful a person is, the less they will have to rely on their intelligence to get them through life. So basically the more beautiful you are, the stupider you are. I know this sounds shallow, and yes, there are very beautiful smart people out there, but I've found this generalization to be true more often than not.

I mean, if you were in an elevator with a really hot girl, and she farted, you would probably laugh it off and then try to hit on her. But if that was an ugly girl, you'd probaby act differently.
