Now the difference there, as you can see, is negligible. Meaning a dollar is worth rougly the same in both countries. Now take that and everything the country has and produces, and divide that on the population. Does this mean that the average american is super rich? It's quite the opposite, you people have all the rich people pulling up the average way up.

While Norways richest guy barely gets on the Forbes richest people list. And our GDP per capita is 500$ more than you guys.

See the connection? We earn more than you, we spend more than you. Items in Norway with taxes may look expensive to a poor american, but it isn't expensive to us.

I'll list things since that seems to be the only way you understand anything.

1) The link I posted explicitly talks about how inferior the per capita GDP is for measuring economies.

2) We're not measuring economies. You're saying that a dollar is WORTH less in your country than in mine. I'm saying you are wrong because the amount of money, on average of course, you people earn is about the same as us. That means, what you make is virtually worth what we make. That means, that a dollar will get you just about as far in Norway as it does in America.

Just because we have more rich people doesn't mean money is worth any less. I doubt you've ever taken anything but a basic economics class so just sit back and take the more intelligent and educated peoples' word for it.

3) The argument you're TRYING to make is that income is more evenly distributed in your country. You can refer to the link in my previous post, or click here, for more analysis but the basic point is we have more people than you (which is part of the reason we're a richer country). That is both why your per capita GDP is higher and why it's more evenly distributed despite our economy being FAR bigger and more diverse than the silly oil market that you call an economy that you have.

4) Here is why number 3 is right:

170 kr per hour, 8 hours per day, 5 days, 10% taxes. + pocket money from mum.

170*8 = 1360 kr, roughly 215 $ before taxes, which is at measly 10%.

30 mins x 2 + 50 mins lunch break, breaks are counted as working hours. 6+ hours effective working time, and most of the time I sit and talk with my friend.

Voulenteer work saturdays from 07.00 to 15.00, 100% after 12.00. Never done this, but my friend there does it each week.

I could work overtime every 2nd week for 100% extra per hour, but it takes too much time.
