  • The Dark Knight

The Dark Knight will be the title of the next Batman film, Warner Bros. announced on Monday. Jeff Robinov, president of Warner Bros. Pictures, also said that the sequel to Batman Begins will pit the returning Christian Bale's Batman against the Joker, who be played by Heath Ledger. Director Christopher Nolan will also return for the sequel.

"Chris' unique vision is what made Batman Begins such an outstanding film and we could not imagine anyone else at the helm of The Dark Knight," said Robinov. "We also can't wait to see two such formidable actors as Christian and Heath face off with each other as Batman and The Joker."

The Dark Knight will begin filming in early 2007. Batman Begins, released in 2005, was a critical and popular success, earning $205 million US domestically.

When I saw the ending to Batman Begins, I was already excited for this one. But, I have to be skeptical about "Heath Ledger" being the Joker until further notice.

I'm optimistic, it should be a good fillm regardless.
My father in law was telling me over Thanksgiving about this amazing bartender at some bar he frequented who could shake a martini and fill it to the rim with no leftovers and he thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen. I then proceeded to his home bar and made four martinis in one shaker with unfamiliar glassware and a non standard shaker and did the same thing. From that moment forward I knew he had no compunction about my cock ever being in his daughter's mouth.

I expet Ledger to actually do a good job as the Joker, mostly because I think he knows we all expect him to suck, and he doesn't want to suck.

The latest Batman films have little to do with the earlier films, apart from the characters in general. Don't try to picture it as being in the same continuity, like how Superman Returns is supposed to take place a few years after, I believe, Superman II. The earlier Batman film with Jack Nicholson as the Joker took some liberties with the Batman cannon, making the guy who became the Joker the killer of Bruce Wayne's parents, something that comic book purists didn't like. This new film likely won't follow that path, as Heath Ledger and Christian Bale are too close in age for that to be possible. It will have its own story but it will neither be a sequel, nor a remake of that earlier film.

If so, then it might be a very intresting movie to watch!
