Calm down there. I'm sorry, but I don't think I can help you if you don't understand what the term "left-wing" means, or if you don't understand that left-wing politicians are generally Democrat. Did you even read the article?

All in all, anti-semitism can be found on both ends of the political spectrum, but there is a difference between the "new" and "old" forms of it, as outlined in the article.

You have it all wrong. Jews didnt do anything to Hitler. What happened there is that Jews are notorious for being assholes (think lawyers, how many law offices are run by people named ____berg). Especially when it comes to money. I'm not trying to be racist, but thats their rep. When Hitler was uniting Germany, they became a very easy scapegoat because people didnt really like them to begin with. Yes they got picked on, but if they were more model citizens this stuff probably wouldnt happen so often. Now I'm not saying 'I hate Jews' here like Skitzo because you can see in other threads that I support their efforts in Israel right now, but I'm trying to provide you with an understanding for why other people may dislike them so much.

EDIT: It does make sense that people who are anti-semetic would be left winged these days. Bush supports Israel with his policy so why would they support him? Although traditionally any type of racism and discrimination is associated with the right wing, currently that is being made difficult. I wonder what they think Kerry would have done, though

As for the whole left/right supporting Israel thing: has it occurred to people that it's not a matter of pro- or anti-Semitism but rather about the politics of terrorism? Regardless of race or religion, the Bush administration has a vested interest in supporting Israel because of their stance on terrorism alone, and the critics of Israel are the same people who criticize America's role in Iraq for similar reasons. It's got nothing to do with Israel being a Jewish state, but about their methods.

Did I say that it was because people hate lawyers? I said jews have a reputation of being assholes, taking lawyers as a prime example. Then from there, I said that when Hitler came into power, he used a hatred for Jews to unite his people. Its not because people hated lawyers, its because people hated the things that Jews stereotypically did/do. And it's true. That doesnt justify genocide obviously, and you cant say 'oh they had it coming for being assholes', but that was the thought process and it was a pretty smart move by Hitler to unite the people like that, because once they were united he could move on to bigger and better things. Or to be more specific, Europe.

I did, actually, read the specious, example-sparse Wikipedia article. I think it's cute how they partition anti-Semitism into "new" and "old" as if one ended when the other one began and the two together constitute the whole of anti-Semitism as a concept, but that's beside the point. The article specifically stated that the "wave of anti-Semitism escalated... particularly in Western Europe." Oh man, there are so many Democrats in Western Europe, you wouldn't even believe.
