i wish people would stop talking about it. it's been on tv the past 5 days at least, and no doubt ppl wont shut up about it today. it was a sad event, and i dont want to remember it. it was only about 2,500 deaths, which is relatively little compared to other things.

Or... now, mind you I'm just tossing this out there..

As it is apparently important to some people, and not important to other people, the people that it is not important to, could be grown up about it, and ignore something for 10 or 15 seconds.

And yes.. if something is done I would highly suggest it be no longer than 5 or 10 seconds. After that length of time, minds begin to wander, and it defeats the purpose.

The more I see of this the more I feel like forgetting, just to be an asshole.

It happened, deal with it your own way, don't enforce it on everybody else.

This has turned out to be a day where everything American is getting thrown in your face, and fuelling my general dislike for the country.

Yes, I think what happened sucked, but alot more has been killed as a result what happened, and I don't see a memorial day for them.

If somebody hits me in the face, would it be okay for me to just punch others in the face who are complete innocent?

It was a nuclear device used on a civilan population. It doesn't matter what treaties you signed or how it could have ended the war sooner, there are some things you just don't do in war. I don't see how it matters, Japan and the US came out of World War 2 as great allies and are still today. As for the blueout junk I don't think it would be a good idea but it would be okay by me if someone wants to use a zone message or two to honor those who died and sacrificed their lives on 9/11 (citizens from 87 counties died also). It's important to remember it because it has (very recently) shaped the world we live in and a lot of mistakes have been made because of it.

izor, learn your history or maybe i should learn mine to the american standards. rab it doesnt matter how many people die its the symbolism behind it. however i will agree with everyone here and say that we don't need to remember this over the internet. just remember it within yourselves. i dont remember TW doing anything on Rememberance Day so why even do it here.
                              the price is right, bitch.

                                The symbolism around it?

There has been tons of other terrorist attacks on western targets before, and after 9/11. Embassies getting bombed etc. If numbers doesn't matter then we'll be pretty busy flagging out for symbolism.
