Yeah ... that post was a bit cliche, thanks for pointing it out, I will be working on the improvements.

BTW, last night I saw my neighbours cat downstairs. So I grabbed my camera and ran down. I patted the cat for a bit. It was quite dark, I could hardly make out the shape of the cat, so I pressed the button on the top of the camera, the flashlight blinked and for a brief second, the night became the day. The cat was stoned for at least 5 seconds after that, then it ran away.
In order to make up with the cat, I feed it some really nice cat food this morning, and I think it has forgiven me for my wrong done now

Apparently you haven't seen the number of people who graduate with an engineering major. It's nothing special. And the leading businessmen in this day and age have the intellegence of pebbles. But we all know you're above that. Telc@t I hereby promote you to "small rock." Enjoy.

in the US there is 1.3 million degreed engineers out of its total population of around 290 million. thats less than 1% of the population. so yes that would be a big deal to have a degree in engineering, though telcat is in australia i think.

out of curiosity telcat. did you find your business easier or engineering degree easier.

from my minor work in business, i thought it was very easy.

And some of us aren't even using that degree.

I still don't understand how someone who can't speak/write English properly can even attend college, nevermind graduate with honors. People in Australia must be stupid.

Business degree is much easier to pass but much harder to get A+ (high distinction).
With engineering, you grade is almost proportional to the amount of effort you have put into it, while as for business, a lot of it is common sense, elementary maths and simple logic. The trick in getting good marks in business degree is to be able to write good assays that suit your professors/lecturers' tastes.

In engineering, they look for keywords in your engineering reports to give marks to, in business, they look for flaws in your assays to deduct marks from. That's why I usually get 9/10 for my engineering reports and 6/10 for my business assays.

I went on exchange in the University of California for 2 quarters. In my personal opinion, electrical engineering students in U.S. have to learn much less stuff than electrical engineering students here. A tutor in UC once told us that the only programming language he had learnt in his undergraduate EE study was Matlab, while as in the university I have attended, we had to learn all the hardware stuff (circuits, control and microcomputer structures etc) and on top of that we have to do a lot of maths, physics and computer science stuff (C/C++, java, shell scripts, Matlab and and some machine languages).

But then again, University of California is probably NOT that good of an university ...

BTW, top 1/3 of the students here get to graduate with honours, and I will NOT be getting 1st class honours. *shrug*

                        maple sucks too

i love excel. i use it nearly everyday for classes

I guess it depends how hard your university is. Without a real basis for comparison you can't tell. For instance at my university we learn 2x the material as many other universities which many would also say are repudible.

                              1. Which UC School are talking about. There are something like 20.
                              2. I don't think I know a single UC school that doesn't require you to have distribtution, even with their Fed up curriculum.
                              Here's UCLA's EE course requirements and... /www.ee.ucla.edu/academics/course_reqs/undergrad.htm
I'm pretty sure similar things are required for EE at UC Berkeley (UCAL), and any other UC school.

Frankly, I'd say you were talking out of your ass. By the way, unless you're a chemist or a geologist you'd have very few "assays" to deal with. I'm guessing you're talking about "essays", and that spelling is a possible reason for your low scores.
