He looks real to me. The trailer makes the movie look awesome, but it's gonna be long before the movie comes out. There are a load of wicked movies coming out before the end of this year.

Anyway I think my original words have been twisted. I just don't think a comic book adaptation of a real life event is going to do the real life event justice. I think the real life event would be completely awesome if it were given a 'Saving Private Ryan' type of treatment. Generally comic books don't have that kind of thing. While it may be a fun movie, it won't be accurate at all, and my point was that if given a real historical treatment it would make an awesome movie.

Well come on dude, a comic-based movie will suck?

That's like saying water isn't needed to survive. I mean, maybe not, but chances are... it is.

    Duuuhhhhhhhh

Hmm, I haven't heard anything about the Watchman but I loved Dawn of the Dead. It's not Romero style, which might have pissed some people off but I still liked how it turned out.

Dawn of the dead, which if I remember correctly, was supposed to be terrible.

Also, sadly, he apparently directed the watchmen which does not give me high hopes for it...

I do hope I'm wrong though, I really do because if this movie sucks, they will probably never make another movie about the battle of thermopyle for a very very long time if ever again.
Wait so you tried to compare Frank Miller to Mariah Carey? Or comics in general to Mariah Carey?

IMO what they did with Sin City was amazing, and although I don't think this is the same director I have high hopes since it is being made after another one of Frank Miller's works. I enjoyed the trailer and don't think it will be bad at all, maybe we'll get a better idea after looking at what past movies the director has done?

It does say, in the trailer, "Inspired by the art design of Frank Miller" or something of the like.

isn't frank miller the author of sin city too? i mean that turned out great and it looks like it's got some kind of art style in it

I can imagine seeing those Spartans in the movie doing Matrix-like kung-fu moves or something too...

This is too bad, because the battle of Thermopyle was one of the most important battles in the history of the Western world and as a movie it could be so much more.
