      When did I say that?

I find most black and white films to be heavy with unengaging dialgoue (say Casablanca, for example), and so they bore me.

Name some of your favorite old films, I'll check them out, and maybe I'll be swayed. I'd love to be proven wrong and find something new I enjoy.

For me it's usually the convo's and quality of the movie and action scenes, etc. that put me off with old movies. I just can't watch them (most, there are exceptions).
Maybe God was the first suicide bomber and the Big Bang was his moment of Glory.

Personally, I love Casablanca, but here's a few more.

          Citizen Kane
          Hiroshima Non Amor
          Mr. Smith Goes to Washington
          All the King's Men
          The Seven Samaurai
          To Kill a Mockingbird
          It's a Wonderful Life
Psycho, Vertigo, North by Northwest, and pretty much every other Hitchcock WTF movie.

And those are all just off the top of my head. I'm sure if I sat down and thought about it, I could produce a bunch more.

If you liked Dr. Strangelove, you may also wanna check out - Catch 22

Both Strangelove and Catch 22 had a great lineup of acters and actress'.

Yes, because playing a game that allows users to play as spaceships and shoot other spaceships is so much different than those two things.

Of course there is, here he can talk gangsta and act tough. When he does that at home during a movie his wife will smack him in the head and chase him around the house with kitchen equipment

To Kill a Mockingbird and North by Northwest are too high up there that were mentioned. If you don't like Casablanca I don't know what to tell you because it's one of my favourites of all time.

I like anything with Jimmy Stewart, but especially Winchester '73. For other good westerns check out Shane, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence, The Outlaw Josey Wales (my favourite movie that Clint Eastwood directed and maybe my favourite he starred in), High Noon, and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

I like Gregory Peck a lot so in addition to Mockingbird check out Moby Dick (I could be a bit biased since this is my favourite book, of course the movie isn't any where near the level of the book, and Gregory Peck is one of my favourite actors). Also Cape Fear is good.

If you're going to ignore everything I've written so far though or want a good starting point watch this: The Maltese Falcon.

Another thing about old movies is the consistent better quality that ones that come out now. Sure there are some good ones but most of them are remakes that are merely okay or sub-par movies (too entirely leave out the absolute garbage that is released like Jack Black movies). The ODESSA File is a very forgettable but good movie from the early '70s with Jon Voight, for example.

There's a Catch 22 film? Cool, I am slowly but surely working my way through the book.

Older movies that are light on dialogue-

                            City Lights
                            Yojimbo
                            John Wayne Westerns (so many)
                            Clint Eastwoo-hell, westerns in general

But seriously go check out City Lights, it's easily one of the best of Charlie Chaplin's works.
My father in law was telling me over Thanksgiving about this amazing bartender at some bar he frequented who could shake a martini and fill it to the rim with no leftovers and he thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen. I then proceeded to his home bar and made four martinis in one shaker with unfamiliar glassware and a non standard shaker and did the same thing. From that moment forward I knew he had no compunction about my cock ever being in his daughter's mouth.

                              Don't forget the original:

                              Manchurian Candidate.

                              That movie rocks.

And another Classic Rat Pack Movie:

                              The Original Ocean's Eleven.

Also read the book. Completely different but both quite good.
