  • Football manager 2007 question

I've never been good at getting good offers for my players, everytime I get an offer they bid below the preset price of the player, and if I try to adjust it they cancel their offers.

How do I score those big juicy transfers, or atleast sell my backup players at normal prices?

well you cant sell backup players for high prices to be honest...
they are under value. if you try to get rid of a player, you will get low bids cause they know the player is no needed for the club.

    ill give you example...

if you will try to sell a player that is backup and he isnt first team, you will be probably able to sell him to lower teams than you or same level teams but on low prices. also try to put him on transfer list on the same value.

if you dont want to sell a player, but also not actually issue a hand off warning, teams might bid pretty high on him. i sold michael owen when i played with newcastle once for like 30 million uk pounds to (guess) chelase.
they bought him cause he had fantastic season and he was top goalscorer.
he wasnt transfer listed but they offered that high bid and i couldnt refuse :-)
also you might answer the enquires with high value that seems reasonable.
if player worth 200k for example, offer him for 350-400K and they might accept.
only really super stars for the future that you will also feel the loss of them (you know, star players) might get sell for millions.

some youngster that grow in my team now got offer for 1.3 million, when he was worth at start like 10k only...
i refused to sell him cause he is key player in my team. only those players that you value will get very high offers :-)
