Also the apple care? any one had any problems with there apple laptops at all?
The .Mac is nice but I never had too much of a use for. I don't need the hosting, or the @mac.com email address.

The apple care however is a different story. That's always worth it.

Why? For the phone support or for the coverage on hardware failure? Or is there something else?

I have found pretty much everything I need either at apple.com/support or with google searches. My only HW problem with my PowerBook was the battery which was covered in the Sony battery recalls.

coverage on hardware failure, not to mention that if you do decide to sell it, if it has apple care on it, that adds something like half again the resale value.

I wasn't completely sure about the .mac thing. I was talking to a sales rep for apple at best buy last night.... for a long while but thats another story.
She was showing me some cool stuff about the .mac but I guess Google hasn't let me down yet.

And as for applecare I am all about warranty for laptops.

Do I want 512, or 1 gig of ram? Price difference is 200$.

What are you buying, Macbook? I thought the Core2Duo is delivered with 1GB ram. But I'd say you want 2GB, just don't buy it from Apple.

Well I have seen 2 different macbooks 2.0. 1 with 512 for 1249$ CND and the other with 1 gig for 1449$ CND.
