Stop trying to preach to everyone about how to be a good christian. We get it. You think you have a better set of morals than other people. I would like to give you some news: Many people don't give a shit about christianity or trying to live up to your fucking standards. "Live a more christian life" is not in any way a solution for rape. Try reading some of LBs post. Women are raped by people of all professions and level of acquantaince. You CANNOT control that other people decide to commit these acts against others. It's really funny how you think being in a setting with religious people makes you less likely to be raped. Guess what? Chrisitians have raped people too. Get off your high horse and consider that people who are religious aren't to be considered any less likely to commit crimes.

Morality Prevents Rape

NOTE: NONE OF THESE CAME FROM A "CHRISTIAN" SOURCE, ALL WERE GOVERNMENT OR WELL RESPECTED STUDIES IN RAPE AND ITS STATISTICS

I find it great how everyone grossly takes everything I say out of context.

For starters Kolar, I am referring to rape in first world countries since almost everyone here is considered living in one.

Liquid Blue, it is obvious that you don't know your statistics if you claim only 1% to that and I never claimed that every case of rape was part of the woman's fault, but the odds of getting raped were severally increased by an immoral lifestyle.

1) Dress modestly, that doesn't mean your wearing a full length dress with a vail. Cover up from the knees to the shoulders is what I would consider modest. It would be difficult to find a statistical search on this because obviously my definition of modesty isn't the same as many people, but if you dress modestly, then it will help lower your risks of getting in relationships with absolute pornographic people burned in their lust, people who desire sex before marriage, friends who think with their lusts then mind, etc... While I don't have statistics for this specific point, this obviously effects who you hang around with, and who you hang around with is severally important concerning rape, do some research and look at these statistics.

2) Make friendship with evidencing Christians who seek sex after marriage. If you hang around ungodly sinful people, you raise your risk.

In 8 out of 10 rape cases, the victim knows the perpetrator (Tjaden and Thoennes 2000).

In the United States, students are allegedly most vulnerable to rape during the first few weeks of the freshman and sophomore years. According to the U.S. Justice Department, 1.7% of college women were victims of completed rape within a six month period, and in 90% of the cases the attacker was known to the victim.

90% of women who were raped, atleast in college, knew their victim. If you hang around people who evidence themselves as Christians and seek sex after marriage, then that gets rid of probably 89.9% of rape at college in the cases mentioned. As well, if you end up going to a Christian university, that will even more so lower your odds for rape.

Between 1 in 4 and 1 in 5 college women experienced completed or attempted rape during their college years (Fisher, Cullen, and Turner 2000).

3) Don't consume alcohol, live a godly lifestyle.

Over 80% of date rapes included the use of alcohol by at least one partner

If you don't consume alcohol or hang around people who do, you remove 80% of your chance for being raped by a date rape drug.

Women in college who use drugs, attend a university with high drinking rates, belong in a sorority, and drank heavily in high school are at greater risk for rape while intoxicated (Mohler-Kuo et al. 2004).

4) Espouce a Godly Christian and don't have sex until marriage.

A national survey found that 10% of women were victims of rape or attempted rape by a husband or intimate partner in their lifetime (Basile 2002).

Of people who report sexual violence, 64% of women and 16% of men were raped, physically assaulted, or stalked by an intimate partner. This includes a current or former spouse, cohabitating partner, boyfriend/girlfriend, or date (Tjaden and Thoennes 2000).

If your sexually active with someone, they are more likely prone to rape, then someone who you are not sexually active with. If you have sex with 50 guys before marriage, and then marry 1 of them, you are a higher risk candidate for rape then someone who has sex with 0 guys before marriage, and then marry 1 of them.

High-risk sexual behavior. As with drug/alcohol use, researchers are trying to understand the complex relationships between sexuality and sexual violence — their causality, directionality, and other etiologic factors that increase vulnerability for victimization are not well understood. Some researchers believe that engaging in high-risk sexual behavior is both a vulnerability factor and a consequence of childhood sexual abuse. Youth with many sexual partners are at increased risk of experiencing sexual abuse (Howard and Wang 2003; Valois et al. 1999).

Having multiple sex partners increases your risk for sexual abuse, and increases your child's risk as well.

5) How you live your life increases your odds

Poverty.* Poverty may make the daily lives of women and children more dangerous (e.g. walking alone at night, less parental supervision). It may also make them more dependent on men for survival and therefore less able to control their own sexuality, consent to sex, recognize their own victimization or to seek help when victimized. These issues increase their vulnerability to sexual victimization (Jewkes, Sen, and Garcia-Moreno 2002). In addition, poor women may be at risk for sexual violence because their economic (and, often, educational) status necessitates that they engage in high-risk survival activities, for example trading sex for food, money, or other items (Wenzel et al. 2004). Poverty also puts women at increased risk of intimate partner violence, of which sexual violence is often one aspect.

A. Poverty may make the daily lives of women and children more dangerous, walking alone at night (why should you walk alone at night? not necessarily sinful always, but not very wise)

B. Less parental supervision (Why arn't parents taking care of their kids, poverty reason, because there is probably a single mom taking care of the child. Most likely there was pre-martial sex which caused the child or divorce (which is not Biblical for Christians to partake). If both parents are present and still in the poverty situation, why are they having children they cannot adequetly provide for, both economically and emotionally? Either a sinful relationship occured, or the parents were having children when they couldn't provide for.

Conclusion: If you are living a morally upright godly Christian life which abstains from pre-martial sex, seeking a partner who also shares those beliefs, and taking friendship with people who share those beliefs as well, you will dramatically reduce your risk for rape. If you still deny this, then obviously you have no intelligence and cannot read or comprehend statistics.

Do you know anything about rape statistics at all? Do you think all rapes happen between the star quarterback and a girl in the backseat of his car? In the dark corners of a night club?

There are thousands of girls and women that are raped in their homes, at family or friend's houses, and even in public places such as mall parking lots and parks. I'm going to throw a number out here and say that 99% of all women that are raped, aren't "dressed inappropriately", or even a wrong place at the wrong time. Why don't you look up the numbers of women raped by their own family members, teachers or other figures of authority? How would it be there fault then? How is it the wrong place and time when it's their own home or when they are at a family reunion?

Do you honestly think women don't get raped when someone breaks into their home? By an uncle or grandfather? By a pastor or policeman?

No one chose when they are born? No one chooses when they get raped either, why should she have to carry the baby if she's deeply traumatized by the rape? If the person that raped her was in her family? Incest is blatantly wrong in the bible, would you approve a child born out of wedlock and between kin, just because it's a baby?

Murder is a crime, and a horrible thing for anyone to do to another. Rape is also a crime, and a horrible thing for anyone to do to another. You would honestly approve of rape rather than get rid of a pregnancy before a life matures?

So basically if someone does something "Ungodly", then if they get raped it's on them. Are you fucking stupid? You can't predict what some deranged individual might do to innocent women.
