  • DS Lite modding, or: ATTN Dameon Angell

Like I have mentioned in a previous thread, I was recently diagnosed with Asberger's Syndrome, so naturally I now have a small army of people with PhD's telling me mounds of information I already know. But there is one thing that I do agree I need to change, and that is organization. I'm too lazy to carry around a planner, and my cellphone's inconvenient, but I do carry around my DS in my back pocket.

So, my question: I know there are mod addons to extend the functionality of the DS Lite, but I'm not into the homebrew community enough to know what is good, and what isn't. I have read before of different projects to add a Palm-Pilot-esque functionality to the DS - a notepad, event/calendar manager, et cetera.

So does anyone have some good sources on where to start? Or maybe a link to a good homebrew project?

    I'm looking for:

-the physical mod addon that preferably fits in the GBA slot and has expandable memory

-a homebrew program compatible with said chip that has:
    *notepad
    *calendar (optional)
    *any type or planner/organizer
    *mp3 player (optional)

    and such.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks

A couple of minutes of googling and I found this:

      http://www.dragonminded.com/?loc=ndsdev/DSOrganize

      It has

      Calendar/Day Planner
      Address Book
      Todo List
      Scribble Pad
      File Browser
      Text/HTML/INI Viewer and Editor
      BMP/JPG/PNG/GIF/RAW Viewer
      WAV/MP3/OGG/AAC/M4A/MOD/IT/S3M/XM Player
      WAV Recorder
      Scientific Calculator

and some other stuff I won't bother copy and pasting.

Yeah, I found DSO as well, but now I'm not sure what hardware to run it on.

I'm looking at the Supercard Mini-SD Lite:

But question: is the SuperKey necessary?

A: SuperKey is a Key which insert into DS slot 1, can let you play NDS games with SuperCard.

            Your call.

You can run DSO on pretty much anything that is a standard flash memory to gba adapter, and maybe even on slot 1 cards (unsure about this). A superkey or some other passme2 or 3 (whichever it is you need for DSRightAngleS, because it has later firmware) you will definitely need in order to run both a)your flash memory adaptor and b) and nds format homebrew, of course, this is all assuming your firmware isn't flashed. Technically with a superkey and all the other millions of slot1 passcards, you don't need to flash, but I prefer to keep an actual DS cart in slot1.
