Calgary, Alberta, Canada, where the average high temperature in the SUMMER is 73 degrees. I think the fact the message uses Fahrenheit to measure temperatures from a supposedly Canadian source is a warning sign.

A bit of googling found this link:

which was word for word identical to part of this message, only substituting Brampton, Ontario for Birmingham. It's an urban legend.

So apparently it's not real. My main cause for concern was that my gf lives in Brampton so I probably blew it outta proportion.

Better to be safe than sorry I suppose.
