    Stargate SG-1

    I don't know how many of you watch this, and I'm guessing most of you have heard of it.

    I recently started to watch this, seen the first season now. This is maybe the best neglected series I've ever come across. The concept, and the casting is just brilliant.

    If you don't watch it, check it out, it's worth a shot. There's been made 10 seasons so far, and it's still running. If you're unknown to the world of TV series streaming online, pm me, and I'll send you a link, since it violates the piracy rule.

    I strongly reccomend checking this out.

    Season 10 will be the last season but it really is a great show. There's also the spinoff Stargate Atlantis which was picked up by Scifi again for a fourth season. SG1 characters will also be recurring guests or semi-permanent (Carter) in season 4. After season 10 SG-1 there will be two movies, scifi is not likely to allow an 11th season at all so they're trying to continue the Ori story arc some way. There's also going to be a third series in 2007.

      It is an amazing show. I don't watch it regularly but if I'm at home and it's on, yah.

            The original movie was great ... funny enough I bought the book version of the movie at my 5th grade book fair ... it was perhaps the only book I ever bought from that thing.

                  i don't mind a bit of the old sci-fi. is it worth getting? which series? people always talk about it but i've never watched. and i'm bored. i've been living of what i make on poker the last couple of weeks (even if that is ~$50 a day) cos my boss can't give me work in the weekdays anymore

                    Start off with some Babylon 5 or the new Battlestar Galactica if you're getting into (or back into) scifi.

                      Firefly is excellent, if not short. Only 13 episodes ever made, but it does have a movie (Serenity) and is worth watching for sure. ACTORS INVOLVED: Nathan Fillion, Alan Tudyk, Gian Torres, Jewel Staite (HOT)

                      Babylon 5 is perhaps the most revolutionary tv show of it's time. First show to use CG rather than little models on a large scale. Graphics and crud are still passable by todays standards, a decade after the fact. Also, the storyline is very good, but only starts rolling around seson 3 through 4 and parts of 5. ACTORS INVOLVED: Bruce Boxleitner, Jerry Doyle, Peter Jurasik (excellent), Andres Katsulas (even better), Mira Furlan

                      Battlestar Galactia is superb, but really more of a drama that just happens to take place in space rather than a sci fi show. It's the single best show on television right now, bar none. ACTORS INVOLVED: Edward 'fucking' James Olmos, Mary McDonnell, Jamie Bamber, Kandyse McClure (HOT)

                      Stargate is ok, if not repetitive. Without Richard Dean Anderson I wouldn't have ever watched it, I like Ben Browder too, he's a good actor. It's decent. ACTORS INVOLVED:Richard Dean Anderson // Ben Browder, Claudia Black


                      Want to see an old sci fi show? Go dl 'Space: Above and beyond". Was a show on Fox 92-93, only lasted 1 season (about 20 episodes) and was the biggest budget sci fi show of it's time (million+ per episode, which today isn't that big, but back in 92 it was huge) Has a good plot, and some really interesting characters, and without question the most realistic portayal of the human race in the future. No star treky-esque bs.

                      ACTORS INVOLVED: James Morrison (from 24), Rodney Rowland (in tons of shows, but limited episodes), Morgan Weisser, Joel De La Feuente (law & Order SVU) Tucker Smallwood (Enterprise)

                            I think BSG is a little different from the others in that it's ... pretty dramatic/soap opera-ish. It also has a lot of political comparisons/ideas etc that might turn ppl off.

                            I actually didn't like the show after watching one of episodes (out of order), but it's growing on me. You can find most of the episodes on dailymotion all the way up to the current episode that will be out soon. PM me if you want the link to the dailymotion listing of shows ... I watched them there instead of having to dl them.
