I may be mistaken as it may have already passed in the Connecticut law, but minimum age is or was in the process of being raised from 18 to 21. If you are 18 prior to this law being changed, you will be grandfathered under the revised law allowing you to gamble in CT.

And for those that may be unfamiliar with this clause:

GRANDFATHER CLAUSE - A provision exempting persons or other entities already engaged in an activity from rules or legislation affecting that activity.

My comment was not solely for casino gambling & I should have stated that, as there are other forms of legalized gambling in CT. My confusion was noting that perhaps since Casino gambling started in CT, that the min. age could have been 18 as it was in NJ for many years prior to making it 21.

However in CT, Pari-mutuel betting, were all bets of a particular type are placed in a pool, then taxes and a house take are removed and payoff odds are calculated by sharing the pool among all placed bets. This form of gambling is usually regulated by the state and is offered at places where gambling is otherwise illegal. It can be offered at track facilities for greyhound racing, horse racing and jai alai (they still playing jai lai in CT?) and also at off-track facilities. This is still considered gambling and has a min. age of 18 or at least it did. Horse Racing in PA now offer Slots as well within its facilities; Horse Racing is one of those grey areas of gambling which allows a min age of 18 to participate. This is changing though and was one of my reasons for my questioning the 18 - 21 law change in CT.

I was legal to gamble in Atlantic City at 18, and then they changed the laws, but I was grandfathered under the new law...worked for Pubs too!
