i dont much care for the HD, but i wish my 360 came with a HDMI output as stock, much better than composite.

Ok, didn't care enough to make a new thread, and thought this was relevant enough.

Apparently 1 out of 3 XboX 360's break. Some red light starts to blink and it won't do anything anymore. I heard Microsoft already reserved 1 billion dollar for this problem and to get it fixed.

From what I understand, when it breaks, Microsoft comes to pick it up and you get some other 'fixed' XboX in return (which wasn't even yours). This one guy who does a gaming show over here, is at his 4th XboX 360 right now.

I think that the problem is overstated, however I can really only talk about my own experience. I bought a 360, and have had zero problems with it. Ever since Microsoft made their 3-year warranty extension public yesterday, there's been a ton of press about how Xbox 360's are "faulty" or whatever, but I don't think it's any more of a problem than what the PS2 went through, and that had to be solved through a class-action lawsuit.

Good on Microsoft for realizing a problem before it came to that, but I really don't consider this an earth-shattering problem. People love to bash MS (usually without any good reason based in fact), but this is just ridiculous.

It's funny that Microsoft annouced this 3 days after i called and paid $130 to get my 360 fixed and wont get it back for 2 weeks or so. I have no idea how it broke or wtf happened all i know is i bought tranformers and when i put it in it fuckin froze on me...but anyways what they do is mail you an empty box that has pre-paid postage on it, you send it back to them and in (7-10) business days you get your same xbox back fixed.

Shitty situation but at least they're gonna cut me a check for my dough back in a week or so <_<

If Microsoft denied the problem and never did the warranty extension or reimbursed the people who paid, then there would be an issue. But yeah, this is just what happened to the PS2 and it'll blow over.

Well, from what I heard it took a time for Microsoft to recognize the problem, there were already a bunch off people who called Microsoft and no one knew about it and they denied it. I guess the complaints just got so much that they had to recognize it.

But combined with the problems I posted earlier, about it scratching your games. ..

Meh, I will just buy a ps3 when my 360 breaks so I can finish an entire slew of japanese RPG's (ff13 soon) while I wait for them to ship it back.
