It was ok. Standard buddy comedy formula being applied.

Will Ferrell was pretty funny, but I felt like I was just watching a character that was a combination of Ricky Bobby and Ron Burgandy. Nothing new, really. It's like he mailed this movie in.

Regardless of all that, I laughed out loud a couple times. Mostly at that scene where Will Ferrell is playing the evil wizard in that chidrens' ice show and he's shitfaced. "Ok, I just threw up in my head (he was wearing a big cartoon wizard's head)...that's the reality."

Jon Heder wasn't funny. Jon Heder will never be funny.

It seems to me this is just the kind of movie you go to, turn your brain off, get comfy and laugh. Don't think about the acting or the plot.. just laugh.

Yeah, Jon Heder's acting is all very similar in style... It worked for Napoleon Dynamite, but in this movie and in School for Scoundrels (the only other two movies with him I've seen), he's a pussy who whines and sighs and shit all the time, and it's redunant, but like all he can do, apparently. That's why Ferrel can do a movie like Stranger than Fiction, but a serious-type movie with Heder would just plain old suck.
