it was entertaining, but I thought it tried too hard to bring about another "cult classic" The first one was better than the second, IMO. The second one almost put me to sleep... twice.

In Deathproof, those girls talking at the cafe about stupid shit made me space out like any other man would.

I was very surprised at how disappointed I felt with Tarantino, I'm still figuring whether it was because of my high hyped up expectations for the movie or if it really was under par. I'm thinking the latter.

And even though I liked (loved?) Planet Terror way more, Deathproof gave me better ideas of what to recklessly do on the weekends.

This article sums up what I honestly believe about Tarantino. He's a once in a generation director that wastes his talents on trivial remakes, rather than attempting something new and inovative.

Tarantino played himself out. He has a penchant for tight dialogue, not gratuitous violence. I guess he's confusing his nostalgic fondness for types of movies with his own talent.

It's a clever article but it's off-base. Sure he overidolizes the 70s but up until Grindhouse it paid fine dividends for him. Kill Bill is a brilliant film and Jackie Brown is also pretty underrated.

I didn't like Jackie Brown. Sure, it stayed very true to it's source material, but I've never really been a fan of the blaxploitation films.

Kill Bill on the other hand is extremely underrated (and IMO QT's best behind PF). But I still think Lady Snowblood was a better film, and that the revenge genre just doesn't transition to American cinema like it does in the Asian realm.

I thought Kill Bill sucked. Jackie Brown and Reservoir Dogs are bearable but not great.

I loved Grindhouse, thought it was fun the whole way thru. The end of Death Proof was bloody hilarious.

Yeah, if a movie can make 5 families walk out, it's for me.

I do wish that they switched the order of the movies (so you don't have like an hour of action and then 30minutes of lull).. but my film school friend who made that Apartment Complex video I recently posted explained to me why Deathproof came second.
