I want to take up a new language, what is the best choice?
I want something that will help me get a job in the future, or will be a nice addition etc

not programming language, btw. Languages as finnish, arabic etc.

Plus, if you've got the yellow fever and you aren't asian, knowing Chinese will score huge points. Huge.

If you want to try to incorporate this new language into making more money, I think I'd go for Chinese or Spanish.

If it's just for yourself, I don't know, I think Italian and French are lovely and easier. If you really dedicate yourself, I think Russian or Chinese are most impressive. Plus, if you can fake a european accent well enough, chicks will flock left and right. Unless you're into guys, then it's French all ze way. ^-^

Government? Go for Spanish. If you already know Spanish, go for Chinese. You want to learn Mandarin (official language of China).

Personally I think Finnish is one of the hardest languages to learn. They have something like 17 ways to conjugate a NOUN. Then again all Finns speak English anyway.

Best bet is to probably learn Mandarin. Cantonese would be helpful, but not to the extent of Mandarin. I'm always in awe that my parents can speak multiple Chinese dialects (there's more then just Mandarin and Cantonese), when I struggle to speak simple sentences in Cantonese.

I know the feeling! My mother speaks both Burmese and Cantonese, it's ridiculous. I'm trying to re-learn Chinese now, I grew up speaking cantonese and stopped, thus forgetting. Unfortunately, most places only teach Mandarin so the little chinese I knew doesn't help me in the classes I'm taking now :closedeye

I think Farsii is the hardest language to learn. That's what i've always heard. I know some finnish only text on ss, because I was in Ancients for a while and that's pretty much all they typed in. Atleast when it didn't get overran by nubs :S newho........
